Til Death Do Us Part : Meet my main characters.

As I've said, I love making characters, especially weird ones. First I get an idea for one, then I work around that idea until I get something character like. I usually start with the personality, then add a face around that, and only after that do I add a name. I don't often start with a name first, but recently I did: and it is the weirdest approach after so many years of my one way of doing it.
Also, I LOVE flaws in characters, it's one of things that makes writing my characters in to stories so exciting because over time you get to uncover all these things about them you never first see, just like in real life when you meet someone new. At first you have your own perspective on the person, and half the time it's completely wrong, and then you get to learn who this person really is and sometimes you're blown away at how different they are to you or how incredibly similar.

Guess you could say I have a very odd way at looking at the world. I compare it with my writing all the time, and believe it or not I'm just starting to realize that myself.

Anyway, let me introduce you to Rodney Connors.

Rodney Connors:

Rodney is a tall woman at age twenty-eight, born as a Phoenix with the power of fire at her very fingertips. She's rough around the edges at first meet, but over time you'll learn she's just a big childish teddy bear that burns everything she touches. Rodney doesn't follow any rules except her own, and even those she breaks. She believes its her way, or the highway, and her ego isn't exactly small. She loves being her, she loves her job, and she loves brutal things.
Let's just say she's not your typical kind of gal.
Rodney acts harmless with her friends, but around strangers she can be a little intense. She believes trust must be earned, and only trust a small group of people, too much to her becomes a liability. She doesn't care about 'No romance in the workplace', she actually finds it exhilarating, and she is constantly like that with her partner Cassie Bishop.

When they first met it was when Cassie moved into her flat and became her roommate. Rodney liked her since the very first time she saw her, and Rodney knew she could have fun with this short blond girl. And this fun began when Rodney cut off a head of a Nosferatu and sprayed Cassie's shirt with blood introducing her to the world of magic and monsters.

Rodney has a funny point of view of the world, and tends to make it obvious. She jokes, and can never not have fun teasing Cassie. But, she also constantly flirts with Cassie hoping one day to have her as her own. She cares deeply for Cassie, but does tend to get them both thrown in to danger. Rodney will lie or fight her way out of any situation without hesitation. She's the kind of girl to bring a gun to knife fight because she doesn't care if you wanted honor or not, at the end of day it's about who's dead and who's not. To her it's survival of the fittest, especially in the world they live in.

She has so many enemies and people who want her dead she's lost count. She enjoys torturing, hurting and black mailing to get her own way, and never gives in over her pride. She holds herself in the highest regard, and doesn't listen to anyone... Well, except Cassie.
A lot of what I just wrote about her changes when she's with Cassie. Cassie changes her for the better, and in a way Rodney sees that, and that's ones of the reasons she keeps her around. But, even that is a little selfish, because Cassie is pretty much always in danger around Rodney, because if she's there, there's bound to be someone else there that wants her dead, and they don't care if her partner dies alongside her.

Speaking of killing, you can try, but Rodney is not easy to kill. She'll keep fighting even if her limbs are gone, and she'll find a way to keep going only to hurt you worse. Revenge to her is incredibly sweet, and she will never pass it up for anything.. Well, except sex with Cassie but even then its tempting.

Another thing: she likes how Cassie is straight and says no to her. That just adds a challenge and Rodney never says no to a challenge.... Okay, if the challenge is boring she'll say no, but not always!

Rodney may not seem like a very good person, and that's because she isn't really. But, being around Cassie makes her regret things she's done in the past. Depending on how much time she spends with Cassie, who knows how Rodney will turn out in the end...

* * *

Wow, alright: that's just one character... If you like, you can take a second to breathe. I tend to ramble when it comes to characters. Alright: Next!

Cassie Bishop:

Cassie is a twenty-one year old human woman. She is known as a Mundane: a person that lacks the ability of magic, which doesn't help with her job. Being the partner to Rodney Connors was never expected, and most would say is a stupid idea. But, once she learned of her work she couldn't resist but go along with it. She finds it exciting and incredible, of course scary but that would never stop her from such a life.
Obviously, she couldn't just go back to her original dream of being a lawyer after learning that there are people out there picking up things with their minds.
Sure, the monsters are not exactly a bonus, but she has Rodney.

Her life took a drastic change once she moved in with Rodney, she wasn't sure what to think when she met her for the first time, but after the Nosferatu thing she realized the world was way worse than she had ever thought. I mean, there are people out there that do bad things cause they can and want to. Now give those people not only guns, but magic. Think about that for a second...

Cassie is smart, sweet, courageous, little strict, and efficient. She doesn't give up easily, and will stand up for herself..

Her size tends to give her an advantage in battle, being able to duck under fists and slip past bad-guys without being noticed. Her lack of magic however is a problem. It tends to leave her defenseless against monsters where a gun wouldn't be much help. So, she gets beaten up a lot when she doesn't stick by Rodney's side. Though, she does have a habit of being stubborn. She's not as useless as you may think, after a lot of training she learned how to use a gun, and got pretty good might I add. Her aim is on point, and her hand to hand combat is fast and efficient. But, being the partner of Rodney Connors, a rough, tough, will break your face if pissed kind of girl isn't easy.

Cassie has to keep up with her, literally and mentally. Mentally because Rodney can put clues together way easier than she can, and literally because.. her legs are shorter.
Being the only Mundane in the agency gets herself looked down upon a lot by pretty much every other agent, and she hates that, but she uses it as fuel to keep her going and refuses to leave the agency.

See, stubborn.

Cassie lives by certain moral's that she always follows no matter what. But that 'No matter what' constantly gets reject by Rodney.
These moral's are Family first, Kindness, Treat others how you want to be treated: all those cliches you get taught as a kid. But, they stuck with her over the years. One of them was 'Never hurt anyone', but that had to be scratched off because of times when its her life or the person trying to kill her life. Learning how to use a gun, broke that too.
She had to change to live such a violent life, but she would never exchange it for anything. She always wanted adventure, like most in this world.

She loves clothes, jewelry, and most of all looking nice. She is still a typical girl even after her life changes.

Cassie may hate the way Rodney teases her, and doesn't agree with her all the time, but she can't imagine her life without Rodney in it. Being her partner means the world to her, and even though she says no to Rodney's urges and moves on her, she gets jealous when Rodney hits on someone else. She believes she can help Rodney become a better person, and wants to teach her what being a human is all about, even if she isn't one. And, she's never had such a best friend.

Cassie has made it her life goal to prove herself as a worthy agent in the field of magic.

Charlie Reegs: (Don't worry, this one will be shorter)

Charlie Reegs is eighteen year old human, who is the forensic scientist that works with Rodney and Cassie. He can use magic, but not very well. That wasn't what got his place in the agency at such a young age: it was his intelligence and his hyper focus, and the fact that he is an expert in multiple things: Forensic science, Mechanical engineering, Electrical engineering, and
Chemical Engineering. He's also pretty good at art too.

But that's not the only thing that divides him from others. You see, he's kind of weird. Has a habit of staring at people without blinking to study them. And, he likes brains, inside and out. He likes being opposite, so he will choose to have one sleeve of his flannel rolled up and the other down, same with his jeans. Also, he drinks way too much coffee.
He's energetic, introverted, talks really fast, extremely honest, and shares a little too much all the time, and he can not sit still. He's terrible with people, and ignores his emotions.

Charlie may be odd, but he's really sweet and caring when you get to know him. Most of the time. If he ends up insulting you, I can assure you he didn't know he was.

Okay, so they're my main characters of my book. Now, I didn't write everything about them, even though it definitely looks like I did. But, that's the gist on who they are, the rest will be in my books. As you can see, I put a lot of time into these guys, how can I not, I love it.

These characters are kind of like my best friends, they're parts of me, and I look forward to writing about them more in my stories.
Also, I am happy to answer questions about them, and talk about them with anyone, not even kidding, though prepare yourself for me to go on, and on, and on. When I'm talking about something I love I can't help but be excited.

I mean: who the heck doesn't?
